HIGHLIGHTS 2003

  • TASMANIAN CIRCUS FESTIVAL
Debbie self funded a trip to the Tasmanian Circus Festival (March 8th-10th 2003) to mix with over 60 circus performers/instructers/street performers to further develop her performing and teaching skills.
  • UNICYCLE RIDE
7th April 2003 saw the beginning of an era for unicycling in Darwin. Debbie organised a 1.5km unicylce ride with 9 unicyclists. The first organised unicycle ride in Darwin and the Northern Territory! A very successful ride with the more experienced riders helping the less experienced.
  • SECOND EDITION OF FACE ART BOOK
After many many hour of work and many many more hours of editing the second edition of Face Art, The Face Painters Guide was sent to print. If you thought the first edition was good, you’ll be blown away by the second edition!
  • CIRCUS STUDENTS JOIN KIDZ FUN BIZ
A number of Debbie’s Circus Students are beginning to regularly assist Miss Deb & Chantal at local events and on short tours. Special congratulations goes to Verity and Grace for their wonderful effort and great enthusiasm - well done!
  • MISS DEB GOT MARRIED ON 7/6/03
Now Mrs Deb (but still referred to as Miss Deb).
Note. One young friend of Miss Debs informed his mum that now Miss Deb is married he must call her by her real name ....... Miss Debbie
  • AMERICAN FACE PAINTING CONVENTION
Chantal The Fairy was invited to participate in the international face painting convention held in Orlanda Florida in June/July 2003. The NT Government funding her airfare and the Governments EMAS scheme helped her meet some other costs. Other Territorians also contributed to help get Chantal to the US and are now very glad to see her home again! Thank-you for all of your support.
  • WINSTON CHURCHILL FELLOWSHIP
Miss Deb was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to continue her self-development for the benefit of the Australian community. She will travel to the US, England, Germany and Japan in June - July 2004 to participate in a range of unicycling activities and conventions.
  • KATHERINE SHOW BY POPULAR DEMAND
Kidz Fun Biz returned to Katherine Show due to popular demand and many complaints made about our absense in 2002. Unfortunately Candy was absent due to being on Maternity leave.
  • WONDERPUPPIES
Candy the Wonder Dog gave birth to 5 beautiful wonderpuppies on 25th July. One was born with Wonder Dog traits. Visit Candys page to see if you can see which one.
  • OVER THE SEAS
The Kidz Fun Biz Rainbow Caravan travelled by barge for the first time. Sent ahead by Perkins the Caravan was ready and waiting for Chantal and Miss Deb when they flew in to Nhulunbuy for the Gove Peninsula Festival. After the fairies flew back to Darwin, they waited anxiously for the barge to deliver the caravan back in time (one day before the next tour).
  • PORT KEATS REVISITED
Kidz Fun Biz returned to Port Keats and Palumpa Schools, two years after their last visit with their Sowing the Seeds Program. A lot of the kids still remembered the fairies and even some older kids who had left school came back to watch the concert. Kidz Fun Biz went to Peppimenarti for the first time and had a wonderful day with the kids and teachers. Some of the kids on this tour recognised Miss Deb from her Kormilda College Circus Workshops.
